Baylor University is a private, coeducational institution in Waco Texas. The university was founded in 1845 in Independence Texas, as the Texas Baptist Educational Society, and moved in 1886 to Waco, where it was consolidated with Waco University. The university confers bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and professional degrees in a broad range of fields. McLennan Community College, established in 1965, provides a comprehensive range of educational programs and services for students from technical and academic courses.
